On Wednesday 12th February, Torbay employers will get the chance to meet with potential apprentices at The Apprenticeship Zone.
The event, run by the local council, will run practical sessions for young people looking at CV writing and application letters.
Torbay Council’s executive lead for Children, Schools and Families, Councillor Ken Pritchard, said: “This is an important initiative which will help raise awareness amongst young people about the career opportunities apprenticeships with local employers can offer. We want to encourage more young people to apply for local apprenticeships which will help tackle youth unemployment. It is important that young people with talent stay in Torbay, develop their skills and confidence and become part of our future local workforce.”
Schools are now being asked to nominate suitable candidates who are interested in finding out more about apprenticeships.
To register an interest in attending the Apprenticeship Zone contact Careers South West’s Torquay Office on 01803 200202.
