According to a press release, Northumbria Learning Providers (NLP) has selected vocational training expert David Baker as its new CEO.

David has a lot of experience; he grew his former company ITEC North East from one centre training 50 learners per year, to a region-wide service training 350 apprentices and turning over GBP2m.

David plans to grow the membership and improve value for members. NLP works closely with the Skills Funding Agency and the National Apprenticeship Service.

Mr Baker said: “I recently took early retirement as a fulltime managing director but I still have something to give so this role with NLP stood out as a great opportunity. I’m delighted to take on this new challenge and I look forward to using my experience to benefit members of the network.”
