NAS launches Facebook app challenge to improve apprenticeship applications

The NAS hopes the competition with help boost apprenticeship start numbers

The National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) has recently launched a challenge for young people to create a new Facebook app or game to improve apprenticeship applications. The competition, entitled ‘Can you hack it as an apprentice,’ is open to those aged 16-24, with the winner receiving up to GBP13,000 of funding to develop their idea by August 2013.

The NAS hopes to increase the number of apprenticeship starts as well as improve the standard of applications.

Executive Director of the National Apprenticeship Service, David Way, said: “We want to do more to help young people submit high quality applications for Apprenticeships and this project will support them to do that. I encourage any young person, or group of young people who are passionate about the digital world and helping young people to fulfil their potential, to submit an entry.”
