Leading internet registry company, Nominet, has launched an apprenticeship scheme for school leavers. Apprenticeships will last 12-14 months, after which apprentices will take exams to gain qualifications.

Apprentices will learn practical skills, working on actual projects to get to grips with Nominet’s everyday operations. Technical teams, the line manager and a workplace mentor will be on hand to oversee their training.

Nominet’s HR director, Gill Crowther, said: “We’re absolutely committed to developing skills and talent across the UK’s technology based industries, and our apprenticeship scheme is the perfect option for school leavers who want to get ahead in software and infrastructure.

“Opportunities to work on real world projects at this level are actually quite rare, and when you also add our informal, tech-focused, and exciting environment into the mix, it becomes clear that ours is among the most attractive apprenticeship schemes in the UK.”
