The pioneering apprenticeship programme, Arch, created by Agilisys and the Blenheim Chalcot Group, has recently celebrated its second birthday.
On August 13th 2012, the day after the London Olympics finished, the first four Arch Apprentices began their apprenticeships. Since then, Arch has started 350 young people on exciting and rewarding careers in the IT and Digital sectors and now helps between 30 and 40 young people every month to start apprenticeships at Levels 3 and 4. Google, Facebook and many others have taken on apprentices for the first time through Arch, while employers such as The Guardian, AO.com and Barclays have extended their apprenticeship programmes into Digital and IT for the first time with Arch’s support.
Arch has also pioneered the development of new Digital Marketing Apprenticeships at Level 3 and at Level 4 and is now the leading deliverer in the UK of IT Apprenticeships powered by HP.
Conner King, who did his apprenticeship with Contentive and successfully moved into full time employment as a PPC Executive with them afterwards, said: “My apprenticeship helped me figure out exactly what profession I want to pursue. One of the best experiences I have had on my apprenticeship was the level of responsibility and trust people have given me. I love my role and I definitely want to remain in this field throughout my career.”
Ben Rowland, Co-Founder of Arch, commented: “We’re really pleased that the employers and apprentices with whom we have worked over the last two years have demonstrated in such a stunning way that young people can add massive value in high end digital and IT roles. Our IT Pro and Digital Marketing apprenticeships are increasingly in demand from both young people and employers alike, and we are excited about the next two years in which we are planning to work with thousands of young people and hundreds of employers.”
