On Thursday 3d July the Skills for Business Awards 2014 will take place in Manchester, an event celebrating the outstanding contribution that skills and learning make to businesses across the region.

The awards will recognise and celebrate the following groups:

• Greater Manchester businesses across all sectors who invest in the training and development of their staff
• Schools that support young people into apprenticeships
• Learning providers that engage with, understand and meet the needs of businesses in the region
• Outstanding apprentices, higher apprentices and other learners who have honed their skills and excelled as a result of the training and development they have received
