Natalie Sykes, regional director of the Institute of Directors in Yorkshire and the North East, has been appointed deputy chairman of the Ambassador Apprenticeship Network for Yorkshire and Humberside, in a bid to boost the region’s apprenticeships.
In the new role Ms Sykes will extol the virtues and benefits of running apprenticeships and overseeing young talent by providing support and information to education providers, businesses and employers.
Ms Sykes said: “Inspiring young talent is a particular passion of mine and I believe that an apprenticeship pathway is excellent for our economy and for the businesses that embrace apprentices.
She went on to state that her first task will be to look within the IoD regional network for new apprentice ambassadors to join her in championing apprentices across our region with key stakeholders.
Delroy Beverley, a member of the IoD, and chairman of the Ambassador Apprenticeship Network for Yorkshire and Humberside, said: “The strength of the network is symbiotically tied to the partnerships which exist within the regions and the role we can play in supporting them.
“I am delighted that Natalie has taken on the important role of supporting me. I am looking forward to working with her to take forward the network as we aim to deliver and increase the take up of apprenticeships across Yorkshire and Humberside.”
