The London Enterprise Panel has approved a £70m jobs stimulus package comprising proposals from all 32 London boroughs and the City of London.
The programme will create more than 7,000 apprenticeships, help 6,600 Londoners into work and get 720 new businesses up and running.
One of the initiatives is a project led by the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, which will offer apprenticeships, skills and training opportunities to children in care, people from disadvantaged communities, ex-offenders, and individuals with disabilities and mental health issues. It aims to help 150 people into employment in six months.
A total of 33 apprenticeship schemes across London have also been approved which will be offered in a range of different sectors.
