Applying for an apprenticeship? Here are ten top tips for getting the apprenticeship that’s right for you and your career.

  1. Do your homework on the employer and on the training provider.
  2. Do your homework on the industry you are applying to get into.
  3. Submit a few tailored applications only.
  4. Think about why this role is good for your career.
  5. Make sure you know what you can bring to the role.
  6. You are not applying for a training course or a “placement” – you are applying for a job.
  7. If you are enthusiastic, eager to learn and prepared to put your head down to work, you WILL be of value to any employer.
  8. Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.
  9. Show off how employable you are.
  10. Be enthusiastic and tenacious.
