A partnership between the National Skills Academy for IT, BT, and training provider, NITP has created more than 430 IT apprenticeships across the UK. A group of apprentices from St Albans who have just begun training recently got to visit the BT Tower to see the technology behind BT’s television services. The apprentices found out how the BT Tower relays television signals between broadcasters, production companies and advertisers.
Karen Price, CEO of e-skills UK, says: “Ensuring that apprenticeship training is high quality, relevant and engaging is vital to increasing their uptake, both among businesses and young people. That’s exactly what we’re doing with these new sector-supported apprenticeships. It’s great that IT apprentices are getting fantastic experiences like this so early in their careers.”
