A record number of job vacancies are now available across Coventry and Warwickshire, and the figure will continue to rise.
Local apprenticeship providers have announced that there are an unprecedented number of opportunities out there, despite belief that there are no jobs available.
Sally Lucas, executive director of CWT Chamber Training, said: “Apprenticeships are now very much seen as a great way for companies to identify talent, bring people through and create the next generation of their workforce. That, coupled with the much improved economic climate, has led to an increased demand for apprentices from businesses across Coventry and Warwickshire. In fact, to have more than 70 vacancies at once is unprecedented during my time here and the figure is rising.”
“So I would urge young people out there to get in touch with us at CWT Chamber Training and take advantage of a wonderful opportunity to get started on a career pathway. Whether they have just finished their GCSEs or their A-levels, there are different opportunities that would suit different people.
Some of the vacancies are in what people may think of as traditional apprenticeships such as hairdressing but there are also technical roles in IT and manufacturing available. My advice would be for young people to get in touch with us to discuss the opportunities available and we will help to find the right apprenticeship for them and support them through it with their employer,” she added.
