It’s been nearly seven months since David Cameron announced the rollout of flagship degree apprenticeships, whereby businesses, universities and colleges come together to develop practical degree courses for young learners.

In September, tech giants IBM hosted a discussion on the future of the UK’s digital education, with many giving their opinion on degree apprenticeships. Those who attended include:

  • Alistair Wood, Practice Lead, Technical Design and Development, John Lewis
  • Jane Reid, Director of Taught Programmes and Senior Lecturer, Queen Mary’s University
  • Gayna Hart, CEO of Quicksilva
  • Gordon Kent, Emerging Talent, Lloyds Banking Group, Group IT
  • Jon Thorn from the National Apprenticeship Service
  • Bob Clift from the Tech Partnership
  • IBM’s own Foundation Manager of 14 years, Jenny Taylor
