ITEC North East, a government funded learning provider working with the National Apprenticeship Service is calling for businesses in the region to develop their own apprenticeship schemes, it has been reported.

From August to October 2012, ITEC North East saw a rise in apprenticeship applications through its website, an increase in 40% from the previous year. Following this rise, the training provider is asking employers in the North East to get involved. Funding for apprenticeships is available; businesses with less than 1,000 employees could be eligible for up to ten grants of GBP1,5000 until March 2014.
