A record number of 250 graduates have been taken on by Virgin Media in the latest development to its apprenticeship scheme. The apprentices chosen have finished their initial 12 months paid training and are ready for full time employment. Head of apprenticeships at the company, Chris Starling, said that since 2008, each year they have seen a doubling in the number of applications received, around 50 applicants for each vacancy.
Since its launch in 2008, over 700 apprentices have graduated from Virgin’s scheme. These apprentices are now full time employees responsible for installing and servicing the introduction of Virgin Media’s ultra-fast 120 Mbps broadband and TiVo services.
