New apprentice scheme launched in Bristol

Six school leavers in the Bristol area will get the chance to access a new apprenticeship scheme thanks to a local insurance company. Brightside Group has announced that it will launch the scheme later this year as a way or supporting local young people. It is the latest organisation in the area to get on board with apprenticeships.

Resourcing partner, Richard Mackinnon, said: “We are incredibly excited to launch our new apprenticeship programme as we believe it is incredibly important as a company to invest in the next generation coming up. It is also important for us to feel like we are fostering talent locally, and giving young people options.”

Mackinnon said Brightside was offering the apprenticeships to bright school leavers as an alternative to University, saying “one of the benefits of taking up an apprenticeship here at Brightside is that you receive top quality training with no debt at the end.”

The starting salary for the apprenticeship is £14,000, rising to £16,000 after one year.
