KM Group launches one-stop shop for apprentices

KM Group has launched a new website to show where all the best apprentice vacancies and jobs are in Kent.

Young people looking for apprenticeships  or traineeships will have access to a one-stop shop, making the application process easier and quicker.

Hundreds of vacancies across the county have been supplied with the help of partners Kent Association of Training Organisations (KATO), Kent Association of Further Education Colleges (KAFEC) and Kent County Council.

The move follows on from the success of the Kick Start Kent campaign, which has placed 122 apprentices with 88 different employers since it was launched in Kent Business in October last year.

The KM Group’s head of commercial digital Steve Hamilton said: “We feel the pathway to identifying these roles is fragmented and we wanted to build a portal that will allow our audience to find these opportunities. We wanted to give something back ourselves to our communities by offering an opportunity for institutions and companies to advertise these roles on a well-known platform. We have worked tirelessly with Kent County Council, KATO and KAFEC to create a website which will serve the county.”

Kent County Council’s skills and employability manager Martin Blincow said: “The website will help young people with the transition from education into employment. We want to make apprenticeships a real option and we are trying to make the it more transparent for young people to find where the opportunities are. We want to display where the real chances are to learn and earn.”
