Apprentices to be celebrated at York Minster event

On November 17th a graduation ceremony will be held in York to celebrate the success of over 1000 York apprentices and the businesses that employ them.

The York Minster event will see graduating apprentices will receive certificates from a Master Guild and hear from inspirational speakers.

There will also be four apprenticeship awards up for grabs. Nominations are being accepted for the following categories: York Apprentice of the Year (aged 16-24), York Apprentice of the Year (aged 25+), York Small Employer of the Year (with less than 250 employees) and York Large Employer of the Year (with 250 + employees).

Cllr Janet Looker, cabinet member for education, children and young people, said: “As a city, we are keen to celebrate achievement and to recognise the benefits of this route into work for individual apprentices and employers.”
