Apprenticeship Staff Support Programme searching for high quality bidders

The Education and Training Foundation and the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) are calling for bids to Phase 1 of the new Apprenticeship Staff Support Programme.

It is looking for high quality proposals to develop professional support programmes, which demonstrate that they can be used by the wider education and training workforce engaged with apprenticeships, and that they will improve outcomes for both learners and employers.

AELP’s Director of Employment and Skills, Paul Warner, said: “In the context of a recovering economy and high youth unemployment, the Coalition government has placed a good deal of emphasis on Apprenticeships as the flagship programme to gain skills and sustained employment. The current Apprenticeship programme is highly successful and will continue to adapt in light of the government’s radical reforms to ‘put employers in the driving seat.”

Jenny Williams, Director of Vocational Education and Training at the Foundation said: “It is great to see this high priority programme underway. During a period of significant reform to Apprenticeships, our aim is to support professionals involved in delivering Apprenticeships to focus on further improving the quality and impact of vocational teaching and learning.”

Bidders must be currently delivering apprenticeships. Submissions should be made before 4pm on Friday 2nd May 2014. Click here for more information and to enter.
