Innovia Films hopes to regain Apprentice Team of the Year crown

Cumbria-based Innovia Films has entered the Brathay Apprentice Challenge 2014, the official search for the nation’s apprentice team of the year.

Now in its third year, the Brathay Apprentice Challenge tests apprentices on their team building, leadership, logistical and communications abilities in a series of challenges including awareness raising and a community project.

Innovia Films is well placed to take part in the challenge as their apprentices won the title in 2013 and are hoping to defend the crown in 2014.

Sam Ogle, IT Apprentice at Innovia Films, said: “It was fantastic to be a part of the apprentice team of the year 2013 and I am looking forward to motivating the new Innovia Films team and inspiring them to great things in the 2014 Brathay Apprentice Challenge.  The Challenge is a fantastic way to showcase the talent we have in our apprentices and the skills they gain makes them a real asset to Innovia Films.

Members of the Innovia Films team have so far visited schools and careers events in Cumbria to talk about life as an apprentice and opportunities available to students who choose an Apprenticeship as a career route.  The team is also putting the finishing touches to their community project, which will involve supporting Wigton Youth Zone.
