VIDEO: Cambridge apprenticeship initiative has royal support

Cambridge News has teamed up with Cambridge Regional College to deliver 125 new apprenticeships for young people.

The new campaign has support from Prince Andrew, Duke of York, who said: “It’s about trying to encourage young people to recognise that the apprenticeship route is a route which is going to give them the value they want from a job.

“But it’s also about encouraging businesses to recognise they are going to have to recruit and train, which they have not had to do for a number of years. And actually the statistics show that once you have got a young person in as an apprentice they tend to prove their worth pretty quickly.”

In this video, Prince Andrew explains why apprenticeships are a great option for young people and for businesses.
