First Agilisys apprentices land permanent roles

Apprentices

The first two apprentices hired by Agilisys in August 2012 have secured permanent jobs following successful completion of their apprenticeships.  Muhammad Fazal  and Yasmin Sultana both did their business and administration apprenticeships through Agilisys’ apprenticeship division, Arch.  Agilisys has committed to creating 250 roles for Tower Hamlets residents through Arch’s apprenticeship programme as part of its seven year contract with the council to deliver IT services.

Muhammad has recently graduated from his apprenticeship to a full time role as a Mobile Management Support Officer within the Agilisys team working for Tower Hamlets Council. He has been instrumental in getting a new project up and running to better manage mobile phone usage, which has saved the council money.

Muhammad says: “I’m really excited to have got my career off to such a great start.  The apprenticeship programme, run by Arch, and the commitment of my Agilisys colleagues, has been brilliant.”

Line manager Vincent Fernandes says: “Muhammad has been a real role model for the programme, demonstrating just what a young Tower Hamlets residents can offer to a business like ours.  We’re delighted that Muhammad is staying on full time with us, and we’re planning to recruit many others like him.”

Yasmin has secured a well-paid role with another Canary Wharf employer.  Arch co-founder and Deputy Chairman, Ben Rowland says: “Yasmin was one of our first apprentices, and she has done incredibly well.  We’re delighted that she has walked into another great role that helps her to the next stage of her career.”

Yasmin says: “I couldn’t have done it without Arch and Agilisys, and I highly recommend it to other young Tower Hamlets residents who are considering their options at the start of their careers.”
