Ecclesiastical Insurance hires apprentices after ‘intense’ competition

Gloucester-based specialist insurance group Ecclesiastical last week welcomed two new apprentices to its advanced apprenticeship scheme, which launched earlier this year.

The insurer reports that competition for places was “more intense than ever”, with over 40 applications for each available position. Along with three new graduate recruits, the combined intake to the schemes is Eccesiastical’s largest to date.

Nathan Monk, Ecclesiastical’s learning & development consultant, explained: “We’ve applied strict measures to ensure we continue to recruit top talent. We’re confident these young people have all the right skills and have a lot to offer our business.

The placements require a lot of hard work and commitment from all the graduates and apprentices who have to balance the demands of each placement whilst ensuring examination success at the same time.”

“It is very rewarding to be able to support young people get into work through our programmes and we’re delighted so many applicants showed a real desire this year to work for Ecclesiastical and work in insurance.”
