North East rallies together in new apprenticeship campaign

The Journal, a North-East based online news site, has recently launched ‘Proud To Back Apprenticeships’ campaign to encourage local companies to gather together and invest in training up young people for the future.

In partnership with the Evening Gazette in Teesside, the campaign highlights how now, more than ever, it is important to train up the future of the workforce, as 8,500 skilled workers – 4,000 of which are highly-skilled – in this North East region are due to retire in the next five years.

Appealing to all sectors in the industry to step up and take on apprentices, the campaign is using posters, online media and word of mouth to spread the positive message.
