BAE Systems takes on 103 apprentices in areas such as engineering and business

Defence Firm BAE Systems has taken on 103 apprentices in the areas of engineering, business and project management as well as for its new Employee Ownership Pilot (EOP) scheme where they will be trained to work in 11 companies in BAE’s supply chain.

The  45 engineering and 22 business apprentices will start at the Preston Training School while the 16 apprentices joining as part of the Project Management Higher Apprenticeship on the award winning Project Control Foundation Scheme at the Warton and Samlesbury sites will study at the Blackpool and Fylde College in Blackpool.

According to Apprentice development manager Nigel Austin: “We’re justifiably proud of our multi-award winning apprentice and training programmes, and I’m confident the 2013 intake will make the most of the fantastic opportunity which they’re about to embark on.”
