Apprenticeship fair a “great success”

Organisers of the Inspiring the Future Apprenticeship Fair at the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre have hailed the event a “great success.”

The Central Berkshire Education Business Partnership (CBEBP) set up the event, which was held at the Madejski Stadium in Reading. Employers and training providers met with young people to learn more about apprenticeships. 38 organisations attended including Visa, Peter Brett Associates and Ernst & Young.

Kelly Odell, programme manager at CBEBP, said: “I was so pleased to see so many young people engaging with all of the great employers we had at the event. It was also evident that many young people are supported by their parents as they make their first steps towards a career.”

Mark Howard, divisional area director for the NAS Southern, said: “Apprentices have a major part to play in the future of our local economy and the skills they bring can help businesses to develop, be successful and grow. It was great to hear that so many young people attended the event in Berkshire to learn more about apprenticeships and apply for live vacancies.”
