Creative school leavers have new opportunities to earn as they learn

This summer, school leavers who want to go straight into work have a number of options available to them as new, accredited apprenticeship placements have opened.

Leading employers from ASOS and New Look to Channel 4, BBC and Shoot Media are all hiring apprentices to recruit young talent and inject fresh ideas into their businesses.

The Creative Industries provide a host of career paths via apprenticeships across fashion & textiles, creative & digital media, advertising & marketing communications, photo imaging and crafts within the film industry.

Creative Skillset has advised that young people take care when choosing their apprenticeships. Dinah Caine, CEO of Creative Skillset, said: “When choosing an apprenticeship people should look for those programmes that give experience of employment and access to industry networks together with a structured training plan that will lead to a recognised qualification.”
