Apprenticeship event in Leeds is a “real success”

A recent event to highlight apprenticeships in Leeds, organised by Leeds City Council in partnership with the National Apprenticeship Service, was a major success.

Young people met with representatives from major firms to listen to advice and hear about potential apprenticeship schemes. Many companies were so impressed with the people they met they recruited them on the night.

Barclays Bank, East Coast and Leeds Building Society were among the firms that attended.

Lucinda Yeadon, the city council’s executive board member said: “There was a great turnout – it was a real success both for employers and young people. The next few months spell out the start of a career for a number of our city’s young people now they have finished their exams and are thinking what to do next.”
