MP praises apprentices at Kensington and Chelsea College

The Government Ambassador for Apprenticeships, Gordon Birtwistle MP, recently visited apprentices at Kensington and Chelsea College.

Mr Birtwistle found out about the colleges upcoming apprenticeships programmes and close links with some of London’s most iconic and cultural organisations, such as the V&A and Historic Royal Palaces. He met with Business Administration apprentices and their trainers to find out more about their day to day tasks.

Mr Birtwistle said: “It was a great chance for potential apprentices, current apprentices, the employer and myself to get together. Speaking to the apprentices I was impressed with their knowledge and enjoyment.”

Kensington and Chelsea College is offering London businesses, with less than 1000 employees, a GBP3000,00 grant for each 16-24 year old apprentice they employ. This grant will be provided for up to ten apprentices and is available to businesses which haven’t taken on an apprentice in the last 12 months.
