London mayor Boris Johnson has launched a new initiative which will see GBP1.5m invested in small to medium sized enterprises in London to boost apprenticeships.
Johnson has always supported the apprenticeship scheme; he recently introduced a travel card which provides apprentices discounted travel. This new scheme aims to improve employment prospects for people in the capital.
Mr Johnson said: “This incentive is aimed specifically at SMEs and I’m urging company bosses from all corners of the capital to check out how it can benefit them and the wider London economy.”
