Autonet, an insurance firm based in Burslem, has announced that it will be hiring 30 apprentices in 2013. As part of the new scheme, it will spend GBP200,000 revamping its former call centre into a brand new training centre. Stoke-on-Trent City Council is supporting the expansion, investing GBP50,000 in the rebuild.

Vicky Greaves, the company’s recruitment consultant, said, “There will be job opportunities at the end of it, but ultimately the roles will start off as apprenticeship opportunities for the local community. We’re envisaging it to be live by July this year and initially we’re looking to source between 30 and 40 people for this year. I think it’s fantastic – it will give anybody who is unemployed an opportunity.”
