Simplybiz’s New Model Business Academy (NMBA) has collaborated with Babington Business College to deliver financial adviser apprenticeships. The apprenticeships, available to those at A-level standard, will last for twelve months with the possibility to extend on to a higher apprenticeship scheme.

A training adviser will be provided by the college to guide the apprentices through their training period. The candidates will gain technical qualifications, including the CII exam in Financial Administration, a certificate is customer service and an NVG in proving financial services.

Chief executive of NMBA,  Lee Travis, said: “Post RDR, bringing in new blood is a lot further up our agenda and we are delighted to be working with Babington Business College on this scheme. Hiring an apprentice will be an excellent opportunity for most businesses, particularly small advisory firms.

“Financial advisers can be overly-burdened with administrative tasks which restrict on the amount of time they can spend doing what they do best – meeting and advising existing clients, and generating the right new clients.”
