The eager apprentices

EGGER, Northumberland’s largest manufacturing company, has announced that it will be opening an apprentice training facility in May. As part of this decision, the company will also be hiring 11 new apprentices.

Training will be delivered by Access Training in Gateshead. The firm has enrolled four of its existing employees to gain customer service qualifications with the training body, as part of its policy to develop employees internally.

Human resources manager at EGGER, Jackie Stevenson, said: “We take the development of our employees and apprenticeships very seriously. All of our apprentices are taken on as employees and follow specific training plans. As some of our former apprentices have gone on to supervisory and management roles, we know from experience that training our future employees from scratch works for us. The new training facility will be a great asset for our engineering department.”
