Taking on fifteen apprentices

The University of Nottingham is offering fifteen apprenticeship places as part of its pledge to the Post’s Get Notts Working campaign, which aims to create 300 apprentice posts in 100 days. The campaign began in March and is being run with the city council, Derbyshire and Notts Chamber of Commerce, Nottinghamshire City and County Employment and Skills Board and the National Apprenticeship Service.

Opportunities are available across a range of departments, including digital media and business administration. The majority of the apprenticeships will last a year and will be delivered by learning providers including New College Nottingham and Central College Nottingham.

Apprenticeship programme manager at the university, Claire Kempson, said: “In the first year of our apprentice programme, last year, 23 apprentices were recruited in various posts around the university. We are now looking for the second cohort to join us in September 2013.”
