Weston College in North Somerset has seen a 77% rise in apprenticeship applications, with over 20 new job vacancies each month. As part of National Apprenticeship Week, the college will be hosting events to show its support for apprenticeships.

Local employers have benefited from hiring apprentices, as 90% of Weston apprentices continue into full time employment after completion of their training. On March 13th, between 6-8pm, the college will hold a free apprenticeship information evening at the Knightstone Campus for businesses looking to hire apprentices, potential apprentices and their parents.

Helen Booker, apprenticeship manager at Business Enterprise Centre, said: “Apprenticeships can be taken up by anyone, especially adults looking for a new career via a training programme, and also offer a route to degree level study.”
