Following the announcement of NEET (not in employment, education or training) figures on Thursday 28th February, a new report commissioned by The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and compiled by CEBR has called for apprenticeships to be seen as equal to university degrees.

Experts in the industry urge the government to prioritise vocational training, after the report revealed how those with Higher Apprenticeships can achieve an extra GBP150,000 in their lifetime compared to a graduate. The report also revealed that 44% of graduates will be unemployed six months after following their university education and 4.5% of those holding Level 4 qualifications are out of work.
