Hiring apprentices – the five step process

NAS reveal the five step process to hiring apprentices

To encourage more businesses to hire apprentices, the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) has detailed exactly the type of support employers can expect, from the recruitment process to the end of the contract. A new Service Standard outlines the five step process to consider when hiring an apprentice:

  1. An expert apprentice advisor will discuss with you exactly what your business requires.
  2. Confirm the amount of funding, type of programme and training provider.
  3. Determine how many apprentices you would like to employ.
  4. Use the free vacancies service to advertise positions.
  5. Interview and decide on a suitable candidate.
