IT apprentices promote apprenticeships through film

The National Apprenticeship Service (NAS) is using promotional films to highlight the benefits of apprenticeships around the country. The ‘sector in the spotlight’ films will focus on different industries and demonstrate how apprenticeships are a good pathway for both young people and employers. The first of the sectors filmed was IT, with four apprentices heading the campaign to urge other young people to consider their future career prospects. Coming from companies Atos, Capgemini, IBM and Logica, the four have created a film detailing the many different careers available to an IT professional as well as the sector’s importance and contribution to the wider economy.  It is backed by businesses across the country, with employers promoting the film across the industry, targeting young people in schools and career events. The film is available to view here.

The host of the IT film, Julian David, who is also director general at Intellect, the UK’s trade association for the technology sector, said: “Apprenticeships are vitally important for the future prosperity of the technology sector and the wider economy, given the importance of technology as a driver for growth. They provide excellent opportunities for both young people and organisations who continue to strive to establish the motivated, creative teams today that will provide the bedrock of a successful technology industry tomorrow.”
